Sonia keeps growing!

Our developers are hard at work on a new version of Sonia – our student work experience placement software. The next generation of Sonia uses Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) user interface tools to provide a rich, interactive experience for users. Sonia is in use at several universities across Australia, the latest being Newcastle University in NSW. The software allows placement officers to find and manage suitable placement sites and match them to their students. It is very popular in Nursing and Teacher training where work experience in hospitals or schools is a mandatory part of the course. The system has a web interface that allows students to enter their preferred locations which is then used as the basis of an equitable allocation of students to each site.
